The ‘Double Tree of Casorzo’ near Piemonte, Italy, is unique because it’s actually two trees in one: a cherry tree growing on top of a mulberry tree.

A very unusual tree grows in the town of Grana, Italy, or rather, an unusual pair of trees.

The Bialbero di Casorzo, which is also known as Grana Double Tree, is a unique tree situated between Grana and Casorzo in Piedmont, Italy. It is a mulberry tree on which a cherry tree grows. The cherry tree rises well above the mulberry tree on which it stands.

It consists of a cherry tree growing on top of a mulberry tree, creating a kind of two-tiered, two-species hybrid duplex.

While it’s not uncommon for a small tree to grow on a larger one, it is rare to see two fully grown trees in such an unusual configuration. Nonetheless, the arrangement appears to be working well for both individuals, as the cherry tree on top bears lovely white flowers.
